It was a rough week for offense with the wind gusting in on the field with the deepest fences and the most games played. Scrappy players who weren’t lucky enough to be on the Red field grinded out base hits and RBI. A week like this you’d expect a dominating pitching performance, but we didn’t have one; leaving us to pick between some middle of the road batting performances.
VOTES ARE DUE BY FRIDAY AT NOON
- Austin Bernardo (Alcoholics Anonymous): Bernardo lead AA to two victories and first place alone in the West, slugging .889 with two singles a double and a dinger. He drove in two runs and becomes only the second Alcoholic to get a nomination.
- Sean Conway (Brosephorous Rex): Conway helped Rex pick up two more wins this week to keep them tied atop the Central Division. Four singles, two doubles and two real triples (we checked the tape) had him slugging .875. He drove in five runs and scored seven times.
- Brian Ford (Scared Hitless): Ford only got one game in as the Hitless nightcap was postponed. But he managed a homer and drove in three runs, slugging 1.200 and batting .600 as Hitless stretched their lead in the East. For a guy we always said was a decent pitcher but couldn’t hit to save his life, he gets the nomination this week for his bat.
