Only three games this week once again mean we don’t have a lot to choose from for nominees. An historic week though as we get our second ever female nominee.
VOTES ARE DUE AT NOON ON FRIDAY
- Nicholas DiCrosta (Scared Hitless) – DiCrosta homered twice to slug 1.111 and hit .444 on the week, including a walk off against the Canvassers. But Hitless went 1-1 with a loss to the Gnats and failed to clinch the East. Usually when DiCrosta strikes out four times, it’s him pitching, but this week he did it batting. The thing he’ll be most remember for this week though is bringing his girlfriend to games in the spring, which led to her nomination this week for POTW.
- Eamon Murray (The Gnats) – Murray tripled twice and singled three times to lead the league in batting this week. His .833 average and 1.500 slugging let him single handidly create the offense the The Gnats needed to stay within striking distance of upsetting Scared Hitless. He was the other run on base for each of Allison Smith’s two run home runs.
- Allison Smith (The Gnats) – Smith was hitless for the season before hitting two big homers this week, both two run shots, to first tie, then get the go ahead runs as the The Gnats upset Scared Hitless. She slugged 1.333 and hit .333 in the effort. We’re willing to overlook her four strikeouts on the day, as she drove in that many runs. When asked how he gave up two homers to Smith, Brian Ford said, “guys, for the first 29 feet 6 inches, those were both beautiful pitches.”
