Player of the Week (Su10): Week 7 Nominees

Written by - Posted 2010-10-01 03:35 in POTW

Some great games closed out the season, but unfortunately, the forfeits soured us. It was our wettest and windiest season, and now it’s over. One last POTW keychain to give away.

(NOTICE) – VOTES ARE DUE AT NOON ON SUNDAY, DUE TO THE LATE POSTING

  • Alex Filides (NWO) – Two dingers, but his team went 1-1 on the day to just barely clinch the Division championship. If Filides walked on water you still wouldn’t be impressed enough to vote for him.
  • Christopher Keeven (Superman’s Wheelchair) – Keeven was 7 for 9, including three doubles to slug 1.111 and drive in two runs as Wheelchair finally played a game after four forfeits. A big win against the Master Batters, who they’ll face again in the DCS.
  • Brian Ford (Scared Hitless) – Ford tossed his fourth career perfect game and finally signed a ball this season that belongs in the Hall of Fame. He previously signed a ball from a 1-hitter that he had written, in red ink, “no hitter”, and signed. That ball is currently being displayed in the Hall anyway, in a temporary exhibit on the dangers of ignorant assumption.
