Week 3 was a sloppy one. We saw river effect water in the early games, and then almost no power hitting from anybody the rest of the day. Was tough to pick some nominees as everyone just hit singles a lot, no perfect games this week either. After week 3, we only have one undefeated team left — Moose Knuckles (7-0). We also got to see Higman dislocate his elbow, and the tweets that gave up live updates as to his progress! Speaking of Higman…let’s get to the nominations!
Kevin Higman (4 nominations, 2 wins)
Higman has been pretty unstoppable this year at the plate, he had an OPS of 1.909, including a homerun and 1 RBI. (Not his fault no one can hit him in!). While getting a hit in all but 3 at bats on the day, Kevin could’ve done more damage until he dislocated his elbow rounding first. Get well soon Kevin.
Michael Burns (4 nominations, 0 wins)
Burns took advantage of playing the Janitors in the second game to lift his average to .500 on the day. Burns also managed to hit 2 doubles, get an RBI, and an OPS of .700.
Daniel Stana (1 nomination, 0 wins)
Seems we get a Moose Knuckle nomination every week now, always a different one too. Anyways, Daniel was able to bat .500 this week, with an OPS of .800. While he didn’t have any RBIs, he did have 3 doubles on the day, helping the Moose Knuckles win two close games (and stay undefeated).
Alex Cochran (1 nomination, 1 win)
The DC Twits love to play #TwitsBall (aka no one scoring any runs ever). However, this week, Alex came out swinging, getting the Twits going against Besley. Alex batted .333, with an OPS of .889 — including 2 RBIs and 2 doubles.
Michael Cohen (1 nomination, 0 wins)
Seems like every week, a team has one player carry them hitting wise. Well Gumballers have been relied on Cohen this time. In week 3, Cohen had an OPS of 1.429, batting .571, hitting a homerun and 5 RBIs. Cohen has been a consistent hitter this year for the Gumballers.
