VOTING CLOSES AT NOON FRIDAY

Week 1 is officially in the books, with no real surprises besides seeing a mascot Chris did not fund. Already cherished, the POTW has special meaning this Spring season, it will be everyone’s final chance to receive the highly sought after wiffleball bat key chain. Let’s get to the nominees, it’s good to be back.

  • Colin Gannon (3 nominations, 0 wins) is our only automatic nomination this week, pitching a perfect game against Chicken and Wiffle (6 IP, 5 SO). Gannon also pitched against the Moose Knuckles, giving up one hit (a home run), but still getting the win (2-0 on the day). He also batted .375 with a double and 2 RBIs.
  • Teammate and fellow Barnburner Jack Shannon (12 nominations, 3 wins) picked up where he left off, showing his pride in playing for Gallaway by batting .667 with 2 home runs and 3 RBIs (all against the Moose Knuckles). He also pitched an inning and struck out both batters he faced.
  • The Canvassers took care of business on Sunday, destroying both teams they played, thanks in part to Spencer Howard (4 nominations, 1 win). On the day, Howard batted .500, hit 4 homeruns, had 7 RBIs, and pitched 9.5 innings with 12 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.16.
  • Not to be outdone by his teammate, longtime Canvasser Kris Garcia (13 nominations, 4 wins) did his own work. Garcia batted .533, hit 2 doubles, 3 homeruns, and 5 RBIs. He also somehow had 9 runs in two games.
  • Back for his second season, John Corrigan of Bald Beavers (first nomination) was nearly impossible to get out Sunday. Corrigan batted .714, had 2 doubles, a homerun, and 5 RBIs.
