The Dupont Circle Jerks are back for their third season in Spring 2013! With a franchise record of 9-19, the Jerks will look to finally make the push from mediocrity to legitimate contention. Manager John Hamlett, Brett Shegogue, Jake Torok, and Tom Schwarting all return for their third consecutive season. Tom Kelley and Stephen Cox are back for their second seasons and rookie Andrew Hill is a part of the team for his first season. Tank tops and short shorts are out as the Jerks plan to hang up their flamboyant attire in favor of some sharp looking new uniforms - likely the only missing ingredient in the team's playoff formula from 2012.

Leadoff man Brett Shegogue brings with him a 27 game consecutive-game streak, and paces the Jerks with a career .306 batting average, 13 doubles, and 14 runs. New father Jake Torok will look to build upon the 1.55 ERA, 50 strikeout summer season that he put together last year en route to pitching 7 complete games in 7 starts. Tom Schwarting will look to rediscover his groove from the Spring 2012 season, where he paced the Jerks with a .353 batting average and a 1.059 OPS. Tom Kelley will look to build upon his successful rookie campaign last summer where he batted .303 and recorded 40 putouts as catcher without committing a single error. Stephen Cox, returning after a one-season hiatus, will look to contribute as the lone lefty in the bullpen, a spot where he strung together 14 consecutive scoreless innings in spring 2012. Manager John Hamlett will seek to replicate his success on the mound from the Spring 2012 season where he was a Cy Young nominee after posting a 0.68 ERA and allowing only 25 hits in 44 innings pitched, while tossing 4 complete games (2 shutouts) in 5 starts. The Jerks are also excited about the talents that newcomer Andrew Hill will bring to the team.

Having put in a little extra work in the offseason and with plans for a few spring training outings leading up to the Spring 2013 season, the Jerks hope this will be the year they finally start putting it all together. Playoffs!
